How about installing travelators (similar to ones in airport) across the town to help commute from one place to another?
This self power generating setup can be done at a certain height above ground level either close to the main roads or above the service roads
This will help individuals (with less baggage)to reach the destination much faster than any other mode. With the option to walk (instead of stand)on the travelator, the individual can cover large distance within a short period of time.

1) Main roads shouldn't have any signals. Interchange (like in Dubai) should be build instead.
2) Integrated transport system should be build (train, metro, bus, auto stand) should all be interlinked
3) City ring roads should be build for by-pass vehicles.
4) Public transport tickets should be at discounted rates and such vehicles should run on solar energy
5) Cycle hire stands should be created at every junction and all stands should be interlinked.

Panchkula can be developed as cultural hub. There are many cities in the world where dance, drama and theatre is held on daily basis. Similarly, an area of 3 to 5 acres may be developed as Culture Compound having a contemporary-designed building with high ceiling. One may have two indoors theatres, an open air theatre, art gallery, library etc. There may be dance, plays, music, exhibitions etc almost every day. Punjab and Haryana have rich tradition of culture which may be depicted here.

Mohali can have a research-based private agriculture university, supported and sanctioned by Punjab University. Since Punjab and Haryana lead in agriculture this university would be a welcome move. Besides agriculture the univ. may also focus on dairy and poultry education, animal husbandry and veterinary sciences. If people of Punjab have money then let them come spend in eduation-- both imparting and receiving instead of buying cars etc. leading to difficulties of others.

It is important to have an international airport in Chandigarh. direct flights to US destinations, Canada Moscow and London will have several advantages. First pressure on Delhi and Mumbai gets reduced, people of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal benefit, import-export and other business gets a boost. If there is an international airport here then Amabala can be developed as Dry Export Zone for agri products, dairy products and garment industry of Punjab.

For Smart Mobility Solution, First off all we need single Transport Authority, Greater Chandigarh Transport Authority ( GCTA ) for Chandiagrh/Mohali/Panchkula. This authority should maintain
1) Chandigarh Metro
2) 6/8 Lanes Roads connecting different parts in Chandigarh Capital Region
3) Metro feeder buses
4) BRTS for Existing wide Roads / Future Roads (8/10 Lanes )

Limited number of E-rickshawas should be introduced as local transport in Chandigarh and nearby areas. Similarly, Battery Bicycles-- normal cycles with small single unit echargable battery should be introduced. In extreme weather conditions it is not always possible to ride on bicycles. Therefore there is need to have Battery bicycles which would be very affordable and eco-friendly too.

Punjab and haryana are known for milk and milk products. If people of Chandigarh are prosperous they should be investing more money in dairy industry that should be encouraged in rural areas of Chandigarh. People of Chandigarh may establish themselves in business like high quality khoya, paneer, milk and variey of flavoured curd. People can show best quality cows and buffaloes to the country. Develop Chandigarh as Denmark which has high, hygienic and quality living but is known for dairy.
