Since its inception a few years back, on the Civil Services Day, the Government recognizes the extra efforts put in by the civil servants who it considers took extra pains during the year. THIS RECOGNITION TRICKLES DOWN THE MESSAGE TO THE CIVIL SERVANTS THROUGH OUT THE LENGTH AND BREADTH OF THE COUNTRY THAT THEY BEING 'WATCHED'.

The Civil Services Day is, in fact, a Day which should motivate the civil servants to rededicate themselves in the service of the public with all the vigour at their command. THEY OUGHT TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR, THE SO-CALLED 'STATUS', IS NOT TO AWE THE PEOPLE AT LARGE.

On the Civil Service Day, the Hon'ble PM has very candidly articulated the Mantra for good governance, namely, ART -- Accountability, Responsibility and Transparency. ONE CAN HOPE THAT THE CIVIL SERVANTS WOULD DRAW THE DESIRED LESSONS. 'HOPE FOR THE BEST'.

SURELY, THE RULLING DISPENSATION SHOULD LISTEN TO ITS SYMPATHISERS AND ADMIRERS IN MATTERS OF GOVERNANCE IF THEY TALK ABOUT IT WITHOUT ANY INHIBITIONS AND PREJUDICES. THAT IS NOT MIXING OF GOVERNANCE WITH POLITICS. AFTERALL, IN A DEMOCRACY, IT IS ALL ABOUT PREFERENCES, AND, NOT PREJUDICES!

Without talking of politics, it needs no emphasis that the best way for the Government to work for the welfare of the people is to remain close to their pulse. In other words, the Government has to be constantly and continuously on the look out for feedback from all the quarters. ONLY WAY TO TAKE GOVERNANCE THE RIGHT WAY.

The youth should be encouraged to go in entreprenuership, the best way to fruitfully engage them in self-employment. THE LAUNCH OF "MUDRA" BY HON'BLE PM THE OTHER DAY, IS ALSO AIMS IN THAT DIRECTION. YOUTH NEED TO BE GUIDED RIGHTLY TO ENABLE THEM TO SHINE BRIGHTLY!

Sir, I am a small entrapreneur and feel that one of the stumbling blocks to development of Small Enterprises is the power of adjudication given to government departments. If you want something done you either grease their palms and if you dont they create such a muddle that you have to go to the courts for redressal. The tribunal act has given the power of adjudication to the concerned department so they uphold their departments order. Pl remove the tribunal act & let courts do the adjudication

India’s salvation is manufacturing-led growth but modern factories use more machinery and less labour than in the past. While India was making half-hearted reforms. The small-scale service enterprises are a sign of economic weakness and not vitality as small traders seem less impressive in other countries only because the best entrepreneurs have been able to grow bigger.

Budget of 1991 opened up goods markets to competition but did nothing to free markets for land, labour and capital. A ban on selling farmland to industry remains; labour inspectors can still prey on factory owners; and without a bankruptcy law, capital stays trapped in dying firms. New factories could not readily spring up to compete with imports, and manufacturing has been in relative decline since the mid-1990s.
