The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

For any further information about E-Waste, please visit the GREENE website.

Government should encourage waste management solution companies. As we are inviting new generation technology similarly e-waste and other waste management plants to be setup at every industrial hub to have a control. As well government should adopt such compulsorily along with other industries. Every Industrial area should have all their waste collected or dumped at one area which in tur should be re cycled for better use either within their Industrial Area or to be used at other Industrial area

Since this seems is a problem worldwide and needs a strong solution to get away with. With technology being so advanced and having so many institutes across the world with graduates in engineering and research. This should be given as a competitive project to come up with a work around that is safe and cost effective to be used in all countries.Even normal waste disposal is currently a threat and not being segregated and recycled as intended.there should be a forum to share pics of areas where w

Also we can propose to use banana leaf/other leafs whichever applicable . this would help us healthy and boost agriculture sector which increase the formers income. 3. Also serving hot food /pacing hot food in plastic paper /cover is not advisable which is create lot of health issue like cancer etc.... we can promote banana leaf or aluminium foil etc... 4.Agriculture and e-waste collection stations could be arranged by local body once in weekly. e-waste can be auctioned to private companies

But end of the day it is not going for proper recycle process and did not have enough facility to segregate for recycling process and many places the wastes are fired which is causing Air pollution and many health issue. Suggestion: 1. Using Swachh Bharat (Clean India) fund, Government initiate to buy plastic paper, plastic bottle, plastic covers, dustbin covers etc in very minimal price per KG. So that no one would throw the plastic
