Home ownership is an important aspect of social security and economic independence for people. That is the background of the fiscal incentives on home ownership like deductions under section 24 and section 80C. However these are fragmented in multiple sections under multiple heads. Section 80C combines it with other deductions. There can be a harmonised section for all types of home ownership costs - cost of construction / purchase, principal repayment, interest payment, etc.. This should be for the self occupied house. The limit can be a higher one. In case of construction under own savings, a multi year deduction with some limits can be considered. This will be consistent with the PM's vision of 'Housing for All' and 'PM Awas Yojana' that aims to increase home ownership. The present section 24 can be restricted only to properties that have income under the head 'Income from House Property'.

Create a fund for taxpayers through which additional benefits like subsidies in Healthcare, land and property registration, water and electricity bills can be given to taxpayers. Taxpayers can be categorized based on regularity, amount paid etc and benefits fixed as per the slab.

Please give benefits for salaried employees. Only during election times slight benefits are given. Look at the cost of living and price hikes but there's no benefits in tax exemption for us.
