Police reform is much desired for the nation. An experiment can be done, like police forces can transferred to armed forces and vice versa armed forces can be deployed for internal security.

1.Faculty at engineering and management colleges should have at least 3 to 5 years industry experience. This will make their teaching more meaningful and readily applicable in real life. Else enormous student effort is wasted in learning too much of theory which has no application in real life. 2.Build incentives and institutions (on the lines of Fraunhoffer/Germany) to promote more academia and industry collaboration. 3.Promote research on activities which directly impact growth of country

I would suggest to start evening school at the empty school and college buildings which is run and managed by the youth, the young students and the young professionals. It would inculcate the feeling of patriotism in the minds of young, a feeling of doing something important for the nation on one hand, and reducing illiteracy on the other hand. Youth can help other youth to be literate, acquire skill and build nation.

In my opinion, the laboratory work should be done while teaching theory. This will help in grasping the topic and logic in much better way. Currently in most of the B.Tech colleges theory class is kept separate from the lab work. So, practicals should be conducted along with theory that we learn in lecture.

The area specific skills could be integrated as part of the higher education. If the education institute is surrounded by fishermen area, then we can mandate the college to integrate the fishing related subject and its practical project as a mandatory sub subject along with other main subjects. Similarly if the area is famous for handcraft works, then we can make that local art as a subject.

College curriculum should not focus on “Knowledge” or “Skills” alone but on both: • Learning should happen in context and not in isolation • In engg, around 2/3rd of the subjects in Year 1 are repetition of what is learnt in Class 12 with not much relevance to the world of applied sciences. This spare capacity can be used for skilling • Better Alignment with Outcomes: e.g. In CS/IS/IT, most of the subjects taught have a hardware rather than services focus, whereas most jobs are in services
