In higher education, to ensure that students get the best and updated faculty, there has to be a scope for continuous skill development of the faculty. One of the initiatives, our government can take is to launch wide scale faculty exchange programmes (initially of short duration e.g. 2-3 weeks) in collaboration with foreign universities. This will expose our faculty to teaching cultures of other places, and make them better equipped for imparting better education to students at their institute.

DEAR SIR/,MADAM, I HAVE A SPECIAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT IDEA FOR STUDENTS AND I WOULD LIEK TO SHOW DEMO OF IT TO TOP GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WHO CAN UNDERSTAND MY SKILL AND APPLY TO SOME STATES ON PRACTICAL BSE TO SEE RESULT FROM IT. I AM 100000000% CONFIDENT THAT MY SYSTEMS WILL WORK VERY WELL IN EDUCATION FIELD AND EVERYONE WILL SURPRISE ABOUT THAT MIRACLE, I JUST NEED ONE CHANCE AND IT WILL BE A GREAT IDEA FOR INDIA. I DONT KNOW IF I WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO MEET TOP OFFICIALS FOR THIS ISSUE.

Students should be allowed to choose the subjects. For those who are not going to pursue science as a career, it is a waste to spend time understanding Archimedes principle or structure of mitochondria. If they fail in some subjects it is very discouraging and they tend to drop out. Instead there should be choice of subjects like agriculture, animal husbandry, tailoring, etc.

This is a double-edged sword. One the one hand, the argument can be that students will become "employable" if they also acquire some skills while studying in a BA / BSc course. But then. on the other hand, it can be argued that this not tackling the main problem - the qualiity of the BA and BSc courses. In fact adding skill development may further dilute the content of the main course. Maybe we should try and change the affiliation system.

To empower women, shouldn't all government jobs be reserved for them? Also NREGS, benefit should be given to women workers only.
