If the silk product is not selling there is a reason for it. Unless you speak with potential clients and find reasons why they choose another fabric over yours, you cannot make progress. Get a collection of all silk fabrics and invite all major fashion houses in the West to visit. Have experts talk to these houses and get feedback. Share the feedback with manufacturers and determine how you will fix the problem and make fabrics that sell.

We can start from our indian top designers. If they will start to design thier collection with our indian silk and make it a worldwide brand of silk like Zara, Marks&Spencers, mango, etc. If they can give soft, flowing material from silk to peolpe then we'll definitely get a success. Because our fashion industry is famous around the world and now other country people have already started liking our indian culture and tradition.

Every Indian Embassy abroad should have a Trade & Marketing officer whose job should be to organise ,popularise ,make aware India's strengths in all specialities. He should regularly organise Indian shows, exhibitions. He should liase with social and cultural organisations of that nation. He should also be involved thru social media. He should be evaluated by GOI at the end of the year by the parameters of success in these ventures which should be evident in increased exports of these items.

To increase the demand of Indian silk products , govt will have to ask our famous designers to promote Indian silk as these designers are the trend setters. This will help in increase in silk demand in India as well as abroad.

To promote the demand of Indian product in globe it is necessary that it should meet the quality standard at par with the world. before openiong new IIT's, Government should analyize the condition of old IIT by deputing independent agency. Presntly in IIT Delhi the class rooms are not adequate, condition of hostels are worst, the faculty is 50%. To meet the above challange we first develop old tech. Ist. rather than opening new.

Collaborating with retail level brands and introducing specially designed clothes lines which are made from Indian Silk will help. Aim must be at making Indian Silk exclusive, luxury, formal wear. This will not only change the image of Indian made clothes but also encourage huge sales.

We can allow silk advertising tax deductable, this will motivate sellers and traders to promote silk goods and save taxes to a certain limit on profits earned over silk goods sale. To increase silk exports, we can give better credit facility to silk exporters, and tax deductions on silk related silk promotion expenses if it is done in foreign countries. Revenues on every meter of silk sold must be given such benefits...only 100% silk products export must be allowed to receive such benefits
