Employability of our students is a matter of concern. At the other end of the spectrum is need for greater investment in research. Industry academia linkages are essential to meet both these ends. While we have various efforts in this direction, these have not fructified as expected. We need to find out how and what is needed for a more fruitful partnering.

In our education policy, there is a gap between Academic standard and Industry standard.our Education system must fill the gap. All industries allow the student for internship training in their company and also there must be a mandatory scheme for student to under go an internship training before appearing for their End semester exams.

A major change in the education system is required to meet the skill development targets. Every AICTE approved engineering college to be allowed to start ITI and polytechnic after meeting requirements. Entry to engineering to be through 2 streams -Vocational stream 10th+1 year ITI+ 2 Year Diploma+ 2 Year B.Voc +1 year B.Tech. So u can get B.Tech only after ITI/Diploma and B.Voc, this entry should be made for 80% of the present engineering stream.Balance 20% can continue as now 12th + 4 yr B.E

Bring some new programs to fund the educational institutions and startups jointly (like STTR http://www.sbir.gov/about/about-sttr in US). Some programs on funding internships in startups will also be useful. Consultancy should be encouraged in research institutions so that students while working on their "projects" can work on real industry sponsored projects

like that we can connect d schools in which above 9th standard ,we will make a system in which each and every student take trainings from nearby industry and interested student may take more participation as like in sports activity if a students wants to become engineer then he can involved in technical section of industry and some amount of scholarships can be given to student by Gov.as well as industrythus industry wil utilize cheap man power or find future manager & student also get trainings

we can connect the schools in CSR& motivate the industry to adopting schools,ITI,Polytechnic colleges as well other professional courses and in this we can make certain regulations for industry like one industry can adopt a ITI and industry provides some month trainings for ITI students as well as school students and after the training industry will organise written as well as practical test and making such a scoring adding academic report also then give the placement continued..

Skill-based courses(both soft and hard skills), in addition to academic subjects, need to be introduced in schools, for example, basics of Search Engine Optimization, or any other skill categories that meet the job requirements.

Although higher education institutions have their individual placement cells, in additions to it, it would be better to create regional placement cells in any of the identified university, which already has such facility will surely prove effective in having sustainable employability.

See the irony, we are one of the largest agri based country of the world but till today i did not see any one hiring farmers, no ad in papers.what is the use of higher education if he/she goes out and works for Big companies, what INDIA will gain. Can we produce rice, cotton, vegetables in factory using computers. We have to focus on how to make agriculture a attractive to young generation.Today childrens(weak) are dying infront of their fathers(strong) because father is a farmer.

some of the subjects like philosophy can not be engaged in industry.but these subjects are very much valuable in nation building.policy makers should think about these types of subjects.these subjects are not directly related to economic growth but they are very much responsible for the formation of the thought process by which not only the idea of economic growth but the idea of sustainable development, integral development etc.emerge.so let us rethink about the subjects like philosophy.
