I’m not a farmer and I’m not aware of all the problems that a farmer faces. But based on the suicide cases by farmers I guess the problem is not “insufficient knowledge” or “insufficient production”. The real problem seems to be that insufficient returns / value for their production. And this is caused mainly by the hoarders / intermediaries. Considering this, I think technology should be used to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers that will avoid dependency on intermediaries / agents.

Connect villages via broadband connection with Agriculture universities, where many students are studying and researching on various Farms and crops related technologies and remedies. They can well suggest our farmers about cropping plans. Which crop will beneficial in which month, what could improve production etc. via Google Hangout or Skyp connectivity.
