Under the visionary leadership of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government of India is collectively working towards the goal of ‘Antyodaya’, a philosophy envisioned by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya to ensure that the very last person in the queue reaps benefits of development and governance is focused at last mile delivery.

To reach the poorest of the poor, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Govt. of India, proposes to expand the scope of present scheme National Urban Livelihoods Mission which covers only 790 bigger towns in the country. Following the philosophy of Antyodaya, this mission will be expanded to cover all the 4041 towns in the country so that benefits of the scheme reach urban poor in every nook and corner of the country.  The Mission will help the urban poor to improve their livelihoods by offering concessional loans for setting up micro enterprises, skill training and mobilization of women into self help groups. It will also provide infrastructure for street vendors and shelters for homeless. The expanded Mission will be embarked on 25th September 2014, the Birth Anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the stalwart who pioneered the idea of Antyodaya.

Respected Sir, Kindly find below a name for the proposed scheme of Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation :- 'Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shahyri Sahayata Yojana' The above name is dedicated to Panditji, who was one of the greatest philospher, sociologist and political activist of India. The words Shahyri (urban), Sahayta (Help), Yojana (Scheme / Plan), convey the relevant theme and the concept. Regards, Rajkaran Singh Bhatti, # 1285, Sector 18-C Chandigarh, 9780005656

My suggestion is In Hindi: "KUMARI KANDAM UPJEEVAN YOJANA" In English: KUMARI KANDAM URBAN LIVELIHOOD MISSION Reason: "Kumari Kandam" is said to be world's oldest civilization which got submerged in Indian Ocean. The Rama Bridge is said to be connected to it. Western don't believe it. To Revive the name of such a great civilization, naming our Urban Livelihood Mission with its name would be great.
