We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Solid Waste Human Resource Issues, Municipal solid waste management facilities did not have as many challenges relating to finding qualified practitioners as water and wastewater facilities.

Lack of ‘essential skilled’ employees The lack of “soft skill” training has lead to considerable gaps in the industry in areas such as leadership skills, communication skills, and computer skills which hinders practitioner’s abilities to move up in the workforce. Focus group participants labeled lack of recognition of training and experiences, both between provinces and internationally, is a considerable hindrance to operator mobility.

Employee expertise neglected through lack of resource and training support Many municipalities feel the training resources available to them are insufficient for workers to maintain training and certifications, and that there is a lack of appropriate training courses to satisfy the professional development needs of practitioners.

Though communication network is sufficient here in Pasighat, but in some places mobile network is very poor. Net providers in Pasighat should be encouraged to cover whole the place.

Drainage system will be more important for me, as I am resident of Pasighat Market. During rainy season, there is water logging all around my house. Mosquitoes... everyone in my house suffers from malaria and now dengue is making life hell.

We have been demanding for E-governance since long but are yet to be implemented. Nobody wants dilly dally in any office work concern to public. If there is e governance, every thing will go transparency.

If drainage is constructing quality must be ensured which would last for at least for 100 years. Proper planning will be need. Also the sewage should not be dropped in river or some of the perennial water sources.

To ward of mosquitoes and dengue carrier, drainage should also be given due importance. Though there is drainage but need maintenance with sufficient manpower with PSC to lookafter.

While talking about e-governance, we must also give due concern to basic necessity like drainage system, footpath, link roads etc.

Reportedly E-governance has been incorporated with Smart City proposal only after consultation with the Citizen of Pasighat. As this part is welcomed by everybody, it should be made successful for all round development.
