Misleading advertisements covers all sectors of business across the country. The vulnerable sections of the society living in the backward and rural areas are the worst sufferers. To tackle the menace of misleading advertisements in such areas, the roles of VCOs are perceived to be of great importance. The VCOs working in various parts of the country with their experience in handling consumer related issues may help identifying misleading advertisements and suggest appropriate action to the consumers, State Governments and local self-Governments.

Suggestions are invited on the role of the voluntary consumer organisations in tackling the menace of Misleading Advertisements.

The last date for submission of your comments is 23rd January 2015.
