The vibrant city of Nashik has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 98 cities to participate in stage 2 of the “Smart City Challenge”. The Smart City mission will act as a catalyst as the city adapts to urbanisation and industrialisation while preserving its cultural heritage. The Mission definition of a ‘Smart City’ is open to interpretation depending on the city itself. However, the essence of a smart city is in the use of technology to improve the citizen’s quality of life. Towards this endeavour, the city would prepare a ‘Smart City Proposal’ (SCP) outlining smart urban solutions in the water, sewerage, transport and allied sectors and improved liveability and governance in order to make the city resilient, sustainable and people friendly.

The Vision for the city needs to be arrived at after considering the needs and priorities of its citizens. Nashik Municipal Corporation invites suggestions and comments from its citizens on ways to make the city smart. You could suggest ways to improve the service levels and ability of the city to adapt to the changing needs of its citizens and develop into a world class city. Your suggestions would not only be a valuable indicator of the direction in which the city needs to move forward but also help Nashik to get shortlisted as one among the top 20 cities in India in phase 1.

The last date to submit your comments is 15th November, 2015.

Same way when you implement the rain water harvesting try to implement garbage segregation. It should be done in each and every ones house itself with different color code bins i.e., grey for wet food, red for glass and cans, yellow for paper and white for plastic. And if its possible these separated garbage collection can be given to recycle companies. These companies can come and collect the garbage in their stipulated time and pay the individual house owner to encourage them.

Hello Sir, it might work out when you are planning to expand the city. Two side drains on either sides of the road, two side under ground cable, two side drinking water line. This will avoid road cutting. So that everyone have smooth ride and government do not have to spend money on well laid roads again and again.

I would like to draw your attention to urgent need to reform the current municipal system. Under the current system corruption is rampant, and the welfare schemes are abused by corrupt politicians and officials. There is poor planning and even poorer implementation of rules and regulations. I request your good offices to take urgent attention of rampant corruption, official apathy at municipal level to improve the working condition of Indian citizens. Jai Hind
