The NITI Aayog-led Shoonya campaign, in partnership with MyGov India, is thrilled to announce the electric vehicles Townhall, an open discussion platform for citizens to share valuable ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India. The Townhall focuses on electric vehicles (EVs) and their associated advantages, including cost savings, clean air, health benefits, and emission reduction.

In line with this initiative, NITI Aayog in collaboration with MyGov, invites input from citizens.

To learn more about the Shoonya Campaign and discover the benefits of EVs, please visit the Shoonya campaign website at www.shoonya.info

My ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India: Government Fleet Electrification: Incentives for Government Agencies: Provide substantial incentives for government agencies to transition their fleets to electric vehicles. This can serve as a visible commitment to clean mobility and encourage private entities to follow suit. Demonstration Projects: Launch pilot projects where government agencies showcase the successful integration of electric vehicles in their fleets. This can act as a powerful demonstration of the feasibility and benefits of electric mobility.

My ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India: Development of Smart Charging Infrastructure: IoT-Enabled Charging Stations: Implement Internet of Things (IoT) technology in charging stations to enable real-time monitoring, remote management, and predictive maintenance. This ensures the reliability and efficiency of the charging infrastructure. Mobile Apps for Charging Station Navigation: Develop mobile applications that provide real-time information about the location, availability, and status of nearby charging stations. Integration with navigation apps can further enhance the user experience.

My ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India: Promotion of Electric Two-Wheelers: Affordable Financing Options: Collaborate with financial institutions to offer attractive financing options specifically for electric two-wheelers. This can help overcome the initial cost barrier and make electric scooters more accessible to a larger segment of the population. Awareness Campaigns: Launch targeted awareness campaigns emphasizing the cost savings, environmental benefits, and ease of use associated with electric two-wheelers. This can dispel myths and misconceptions, encouraging more consumers to make the switch.

My ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India: Integration of Electric Rickshaws in Urban Transport: Incentives for E-Rickshaw Owners: Provide financial incentives, such as subsidies or low-interest loans, for e-rickshaw owners to transition from traditional fuel-powered rickshaws to electric ones. This could be coupled with training programs on maintenance and operation of electric rickshaws. Designated Charging Zones: Create dedicated charging zones in urban areas where e-rickshaw drivers can conveniently charge their vehicles during breaks. These zones should be strategically located to ensure accessibility and encourage adoption.

To make EV charging infrastructure more accessible and convenient for everyone in Indian cities, consider the following strategies: 1. Strategic Location Planning: - Identify and install charging stations at key locations like shopping centers, parking lots, residential areas, and public spaces to ensure widespread accessibility. 2. Integrated Public Transport Hubs: - Integrate charging stations with public transportation hubs to encourage EV usage for commuters and provide a convenient option for those using public transport. 3. Smart Parking Solutions: - Implement smart parking solutions that incorporate EV charging facilities, allowing users to find available parking spaces with charging options through mobile apps. 4. Standardized Charging Infrastructure: - Encourage standardization of charging connectors and protocols to ensure compatibility across different EV models, making it more convenient for users.

Charging the battery of an electric vehicle is relatively easy for a two-wheeler as charging is possible from a home 15 Amp electrical outlet. But for a four-wheeler with a long range, charging from home takes too long and for some electric cars, it might not be feasible. For that, we need a chain of charging stations along the way and the metering of the service needs proper mechanisms. For a country like India, it is a massive business to set up such chains. The long time needed for charging calls for resting places for the passengers as it is best not to remain in the car and use part of the charging power to run the facilities like A/C.

Dear sir, Kindly consider enforcing Crowd Controlling Mechanisms for all public places. Similar to some of public places in India we must do the following for religious sites/pilgrimages/places, etc. 1. Decide maximum footfall allowed per site : do not allow any more than decided / registered strength (pre booked). Waiting halls for crowd control, having waiting strength of minimum 1000/hall. Minimum 40 such halls per site. 2. Deploy CCTV at all public places/sites. 3. On-Ground permanent monitoring staff - at all fourways / public places (PVT SECURITY/hired) within city premises for regular law enforcement like helmet checks, etc. Helps make citizen law abiding. Regards sir.

This statement can be supported in the way that, After installation of EVs it is important to build charging stations. It becomes important to replace Petrol pumps with EVs charging stations after complete replacement of fuel consuming vehicles with EVs. In conclusion I want to say that "EVs charging infrastructure become more accessible and convenient for everyone in our cities and towns" for smoothly running of transportation system without any obstruction. Thanking all!
