The Government has reviewed the existing draft National Youth Policy, 2014 and prepared a new draft National Youth Policy (NYP). The draft NYP envisages a ten - year vision for youth development that India seeks to achieve by 2030. It is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and serves to 'unlock the potential of the youth to advance India'.

The draft NYP seek to catalyze widespread action on youth development across five priority areas viz. education; employment & entrepreneurship: youth leadership & development; health, fitness & sports; and social justice. Each priority area is underpinned by the principle of social inclusion keeping in view the interests of the marginalized sections.

The Department of Youth Affairs seek comments/views/suggestions on the draft NYP from all stakeholders.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Youth Policy (PDF 1.23 MB)

The last date to share your ideas and suggestions is 15th July, 2022.

The mindset changes with time. For example, earlier a car was used until it could not be repaired any more. Now people are changing to new cars frequently. The availability of easy communication and digital economy now inhibits the employers from the ‘lifetime’ type of traditional recruitment process where a youth could compete and get an employment lasting his entire working life-time. Now the employer can hire a worker even for a few hours. Of course, in the present mode, the hirer escapes the burden of medical treatment, provident fund, pension, and so on. It is difficult for traditionally employed people to understand the dynamics and the psychological impact of the present system of on-demand hiring on the youth as they depend on it for family-maintenance and saving some amount for their old-age needs. One point that arises here is the need for the youth to acquire multiple skills to ensure that he/she gets different assignments and earns a reasonably assured sum every day.

Judiciary does influence the world-view of youth today. Is the judiciary setting right examples? Are they accountable too? Are they arrogant at times? Do they also make sweeping & biased retorts sometimes during hearings, not essentially part of judgements though, nonetheless fraught with serious consequences for the stakeholders and the society at large? The constitutional framework shall ensure the highest level responsibility, accountability, and integrity of Judiciary too - the most revered institution of the country.

Modiji,Youth are Batton holders of parents in subjects like Indian history &geography, culture, religion tradition, patriotism.Lack of Training in Human Resource Development in above subjects in begining of age of Youth is the cause of misguded Youths. So Youths both Male&Female should be recruited to Indian Human Resource Development Force.IHRDF Cluster Group in each Ward should be constituted to train Youths in above subjects, also guide family to be patriot while earning from industry business.
