Bank charges are deducted upon paying by debit card one such transaction has been done by me I have made payment for Rs.500/- for petrol for my bike but in the statement I have found that additional 10% has been deducted as service charge the statement shows as Rs. 514.04. Further the Bank has started charging @ 0.38 as service Tax for NEFT for each and every transaction for the amount even in the range of Rs. 10000/- that was not previously made.

BHIM, The scheme is extremely good. Unfortunately not everyone may hold a DEBIT card, as I do not hold. I am comfortable using credit cards and making payments with cheques. But in this app, a debit card is insisted upon! You may have a valid reason, but for people like me, and aged, it is not clear. Can you not make us use the app, say sending money more than receiving, without any debit card? Please. I have down loaded for unable to use it!

Fixing withdrawal limits per week without having digital payment options at government offices forcing people to go out of way to arrange cash and some bank staff misusing this situation. To start with all government agencies /offices must Take and Give payment in digital mode.

all digital payment should be charged at flat 0.25 % of total amount spend or transfer or whatever and cash withdrawal/deposit should be charged at 2% on total amount. Then only people start moving digital payment. You should also give some incentive or tax benefit on if people go through digital transaction.

Thanks for email. Please see below : 1) Zero payment / service charge on payment made through cards/ digital applications. 2) All government agencies at both center and State level must adopt cashless payment option. Most of state government offices are forcing people to pay in cash as these offices have no arrangement for digital payment. For example - Land / building /property Registry office Must adopt digital payment option, to avoid cash handling and to reduce corruption.

Common man needs govt assurance that switching to transacting money digitally for utility/consumables payments, there is no extra charge on him. Other ways & means may be explored to meet the costs involved in carrying out such transactions - may be by taxing cash transactions or claiming the expenses as business expenses by traders and claiming tax rebate thereon . Otherwise why should a person used to handling cash transactions with ease would switch over to this mode of payment?
