Smart cities must have total master plans for next 50 years according to the expected population growth. Following points must be considered:
1) Wide roads proposed in the CDP plans should be developed by the Government with service ducts for various cables and pipelines to be installed.
2) Proper plans for mass rapid transportation.
3) Multi-storied parking lots wherever necessary.
4. Parking should not be allowed on roads.
5. Properly planned storm water drains.

A city can not be smart unless it is "SAFE". Till now, the governing provisions for SAFETY of a building lies with architects (not even engineers)!! The Architect is responsible for completion certificate of a building as per bye laws of many states. This is as good (or as bad as) asking a plastic surgeon if the orthopedic operation went fine or not. Structural engineer certification should be a must for buildings more than 2 story height. If we consider earthquake, the situation gets even worst

Why only targeting the Cities? Why not the villages? Is it not a fact that villages are the backbone of our nation? Is it not a fact that farming is the backbone of our Economy? IMHO, we need to take initiatives to make villages to take care of
#1. Its P&L - how it used to be prior to any invasion
#2. Something like a corporate MUST be formed and registered for each & every village
#3. All the villagers MUST this company's shareholders
There are more to add, but no space here

Truth we need 2 make education & family welfare one. Why? For a large no of student's career decisions come from the parents and not the student. If you care about a student's life think it once. India's suicide rate is 1 of the highest
Solutions 1 Influence students in various career fields while they r young
2 Make a survey asking young studs if they r being forced 2 take certain career
3 A common test for all studs after highschool Language & Math no fail score ranges 2 b eligible for test
