Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

। धन्यवाद

Villages that have ancient temples and other historical/mythological importance can be promoted, to start with. This will also help in rebuilding dilapidated temples and other memorials that have been long forgotten or ignored. People who have come from villages and become famous in whatever way, their ancestry can be traced back, their ancestral houses rmade into memorials or a museum can be built so that even the locals feel proud of them- philosophers, warriors, scientistsetc.

What an individual want is to earn more money and for same if instead of developing artificial villages in cities like Pratapgarh farms (Haryana),etc goverment should ask people from village itself to extend their hand for same thing in village itself on their land

The main difference btw rural and urban is "awareness".We the people of India who have ease access to technology, education and many more are leading our life to the best and lacking something behind.why only Govt should take an initiative to make people aware about the present situations and it's consequence? We as a citizen of India have the right to share our thoughts why to share among people habituated to technology? Why not with people directly? It's not about govt it's about individuality
